Frew Conservation was established in 2012 by Craig Frew MSc IHBC, with 17 years’ experience providing consultancy advice and training for the repair and conservation of traditional and historic buildings and structures.
Craig previously worked as Technical Consultant for a large stonemasonry contractor, Buildings Consultant for a traditional building skills training centre and Conservation Officer for a local authority. His main focus has been managing and delivering consultancy and training services for the appropriate repair of traditional buildings and structures.
Craig has both a BSc(Hons) Degree in Town and Regional Planning and an MSc Degree in European Urban Conservation. He also has a Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) Vocational Assessors Certificate, having been involved in training and assessment of the SVQ National Units in Conservation Masonry, and more recently the National Progression Award (NPA) in the Conservation of Masonry.
Craig has been a Full Member of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation (IHBC) since 2004, is a member of the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings and is a Trustee and Director of Falkland Stewardship Trust. Formerly, he was Technical Secretary for the Building Limes Forum UK (where he still maintains an active role) and sat on the IHBC Scotland Branch Committee.
Frew Conservation are a Recognised IHBC Historic Environment Service Provider and Members of the Federation of Small Businesses.
